Since Red Dot’s inception, creative expression has been our foundational approach to highlighting the social, cultural and political practices surrounding civil and reproductive rights. Our annual art show serves as a platform for artists within our community to display work geared towards our collective consciousness.
Last year‘s show included a combination of visual work, installations, and live paintings that highlighted sustainable menstrual practices. This year, we want to broaden the scope of work and take time to reflect. In light of increasing physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion within our community, we want to offer a body of work that not only reflects on how we survived, but also how we channel negativity into change. We aim to thrive. We encourage all project proposals to align with that message so that we establish a clear dialogue centered around positive action and affirmation.

As we mentioned before, our annual art show doubles as a donation drive and we kindly ask guests to contribute at least one (1) pack of menstrual products or the monetary equivalent ($5-10) in exchange for entry to our show. Past recipients of our collections include local DC/NYC homeless shelters, halfway homes, underfunded schools or disaster relief efforts, thanks to the continued support of the Red Dot community.
