Red Dot is joining forces with comedy to give you a night full of laughs about our periods or the lack thereof! What better way to celebrate Galentine's Day?

All proceeds from the comedy show will be split between the two organizations to lead future work to humanize the period and to share the stories that are never told. Both organizations hope to raise awareness and lift the shame from menstrual issues.

Ziwe Fumudoh

Ziwe Fumudoh is a New York based comedian. Currently, she writes on the late night show The Rundown with Robin Thede, executive produced by Chris Rock. She hosts a web series called Baited with Ziwe which was featured in Adweek. Her jokes have been quoted in numerous publications including The Onion, The Washington Post, NPR, Reductress, and The New Yorker. Additionally, Ziwe performs standup and hosts a monthly show called "Obama's America." When she is not writing or performing, she's tweeting @Ziwe.


Paul Morley Mooney

Paul Morley Mooney is a comedian and writer who works in sketch, standup, and satire. He is especially proud of his satire blog, The Weeklyish Review, and his web series, Paul & Vick.


Zilla Vodnas

Zilla Vodnas was born and raised in Bushwick, Brooklyn. After graduating from The School of Visual Arts, Zilla wrote and produced the online sketch comedy show Super Tight. Zilla has been a featured comic at Boston's Women in Comedy Festival and the Harlem Comedy Festival. Zilla currently hosts two monthly comedy shows: The(Sis) a feminist comedy showcase at Starr Bar and Bushwick's zaniest holiday themed variety show Gran Noche.

Mary Beth Barone

Mary Beth is a Manhattan-based comedian and actor. You can see Mary Beth performing at comedy venues around New York City like allll the time. If you don't like leaving the house to consume content, you can catch her in Viceland's comedy docu-series Funny How? Or watch her in the *hit* web series Good Sets OR Melania Trump's Victory Tour. Jenny Nelson

Jenny Nelson is a writer and comedian from Chicago based in Brooklyn. She's written for Poncho, Splitsider, Funny Or Die, The Hairpin, The Awl, Videogum, and Potluck Mag, and co-founded the temporarily-defunct satirical lifestyle blog Lark & Olive. Brittany Carney

Brittany Carney is a standup comedian based in Washington, DC. She recently featured for Wyatt Cenac at Underground Comedy's The Big Hunt, and hosted for Moshe Kasher at the DC Improv. Other highlight experiences include the Kennnedy Center's District of Comedy Festival, Underground Comedy Fest, and Nerdist's Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction Live.

Embrace the Period is back and this time we're focusing on sustainability!

On August 19, Red Dot will be hosting its second annual Embrace the Period art show from 6-10 p.m. at 106 North 3rd St, Brooklyn, NY 11249. This year’s show will feature work inspired by the period with a focus on sustainable menstrual practices. Experience the raw talent of our live painters Frank Abbott and Chanah Haddad, participate in our silent auction and take home one-of-a-kind merchandise, and flow through our artist instillation while sippin on wine and dancing to Red Dot's Lit A$$ Playlist. 

Entry to the event will be in the form of a menstrual resource donation (i.e. a package of pads, tampons, menstrual cups, etc). All products collected will be donated to underfunded schools.

Red Dot Wellness Cycle

Join us Saturday July 15th for a special, pop-up event filled with physical, spiritual and wellness workshops. From 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, start your morning with positive affirmation, followed by a guided meditation, and a Creating Sex Magic yoga workshop led by Boneseed, Alessandra Calderin. By the afternoon enjoy a social break with wine, snacks and mini tarot card readings, ending with a wellness and balance workshop led by Shaunda Lambert.

Use this opportunity to connect and align your mind, body and spirit to prepare yourself for your next project. This event provides a positive space for networking, and strategies for developing your best self for any situation. Tickets are $30 and all proceeds of this event will go toward Red Dot’s annual art show on August 19th, an exhibition featuring work inspired by the period in order to end the social stigmas associated with menstruation. Julio Rivera

Julio Rivera is a meditation teacher-in-training with MindBodyGreen. Mindfulness transformed his life after difficulties with managing stress and has committed to making it his lifes' purpose. He left his full-time job as an app developer to help spread meditation as an effective tool to living a happier life. He launched an online community to make it easier to access teachers as well as other meditators to connect with.

Shaunda Lambert

Shaunda is not a modern-day Carrie Bradshaw, but she likes to think she is. When she’s not taking a stab at writing for her website Simply Shaunda, she is a full-time marketing gal in the advertising space, focused on community engagement, the management of human capital, diversity and inclusion.  As a Developmental Career Coach, she navigates creative professionals through the obstacles of the job hunt and career transitions. She has a great focus on her clients understanding the importance of being passionate about career but also having the balance to promote a better quality of life. 

When she’s not adulting, she’s most likely pretending to be a wanderlust queen, curating new recipes, or having a conversation about self-awareness, meditation and expression. Alessandra Calderin 

Alessandra is a writer, reader, witch, Ravenclaw, teacher and performer based in Brooklyn, New York. Hailing from Miami, Florida, Alessandra grew up in a rich culture that combined Cuban, Catholic, Jewish and Colombian influence thanks to the integration of her mixed family. Calderin has had the supreme honor of sustaining a mentorship with the great Lindsay Mack of Wild Soul Healing for over a year from one-on-one teachings to immersive retreats and ceremonies. She furthers her practice through meditation and scholarly study of allegory and archetypes. She believes in the magic of science and is thrilled by concepts beyond human comprehension.

Calderin completed her 200 hour training at Yoga Shanti after studying and practicing with a range of incredible teachers.
